  • GREED OR LISTENING TO OUR PEOPLE?
  • WE MUST DECIDE WHAT SORT OF A SOCIETY WE WANT!

WHAT WE’RE HEADING TOWARDS AND HOW TO AVOID CONTINUING DISASTERS:

Most of what I see on “media NEWS” today is an annoying mix of ADVERTISING, deceptions, misinformation, half-truths lightly peppered with the occasional snippet of actual news. You could miss THE NEWS if you don’t want to wade through hours of, “Why Princess Di did what she did” and “Why Donald Trump wears a red tie and tweets” nothing about your neighbour who needs help looking after her son because of mental illness or about the increasing drug, gambling and alcohol problems responsible for an ever growing suicide rate amongst young adults unable to face human issues.

The situation won’t improve without legislation to stop the GREED element in our society. Most councillors are, each, presently paid a STIPEND of between $20,000 and $30,000 per year. For people with good prospects, good jobs or in some cases retired millionaires or certainly well off, the stipend is purely a greedy grasp for money. I don’t doubt that being a councillor within your own society will cost you dollars … as it should! Surely, the “well to do” can assist their people without the desire or need for monetary gain; isn’t that the reason for standing for the City of Kalamunda in the first place (TO HELP PEOPLE) or was that just another in a long long list of false advertising and media manipulation? False promotion, false activity and hidden motives are what local government is about today.

Councils are well known for ignoring, marginalising and manipulating their citizens resulting in the distrust, disrespect and even hatred that we see today for the City of Kalamunda. However, don’t think for a moment that no solution exists nor that you are powerless to improve the situation. Greed needs to end somewhere and at some time. Why not now, in the City of Kalamunda! We can give our children and our neighbours a future … a healthy environment, jobs, a place to raise a family, a place of beauty and happiness; all of these things are possible when GREED is placed on the backburner and your people (our people) work together for the good of everyone.

Let me be the first but not the last councillor to promise the STIPEND will go to charity and the poor; every dollar, in fact every single cent. Hopefully, not the last.
